Module 6 has the theme of magic. Students are focused on identifying final sounds in words.

Learning Activities

  1. Following instructions – students watch a video and follow the instructions to draw different pictures. There are many different videos you can use, we like to use those from Muffalo Potato on You Tube.
  2. Blending – students complete a craft activity to create an animal that can be used to practice blending beginning, middle and end sounds.
  3. Blending – students jump out the sounds from a given real or nonsense word.
  4. Final sounds – students match pictures with the same final sounds.
  5. Final sounds – complete words by adding the final sounds.
  6. Handwriting – other letters – e s x z.  We identify head, tail and body parts of letters. Students also identify words beginning with the letter sounds and write whole words into their books placing them correctly on the red and blue lines.
  7. Language development – teachers read books to the students and discuss the content using Blanks Questions as a basis to extend language and vocabulary. Training in Blanks Questions is available at Blanks Questions Training
  8. Write their first name and surname. The students initially trace the letter and learn where to place the letters on the red and blue lines.
  9. Sight words – students are exposed to and play games focusing on the Indigo words from Magic Words
